  • What benefits does a IP65 protection level enclosure included?

    The IP code or ingress protection code indicates how well a device is protected against water and dust and it is established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

    EP Cube comes with a IP65 protection, which means: 
    - protection against low pressure water jets from any direction
    - protection against condensation and water spray
    - most outdoor enclosures that won't encounter extreme weather such as flooding.

  • What is DC-coupled vs AC coupled PV?

    AC or DC coupling refers to the way that the solar panels are coupled or linked to the home's electricity system. DC (Direct Current)-coupled PV systems are generally more energy-efficient than AC (Alternating Current)-coupled systems, which translates into generating more power from the solar system.

  • How to understand the 80% remaining capacity in warranty letter?

    Like all things, batteries have a finite lifespan. As batteries get older and efficiency decreases, they enter what researchers call “capacity fade”, which occurs when the amount of charge your battery could once hold begins to decrease with repeated use.

  • What is the LiFePO4 battery?

    There are two common types of Lithium battery: LiFePO4 battery and ternary lithium battery. Compared with ternary battery, LiFePO4 batteries are characterized by high-safety, high-rate charge-discharge characteristics and long cycle life. 

  • Can I integrate the EP Cube into an existing PV system?

    Yes, the EP Cube is compatible to all existing PV systems.

  • Are there any limitations with the stackable ESS?

    The EP Cube is only compatible with EP Cube Battery module only, maximum 6 battery modules can be installed. Connection with battery modules from other brands is not supported.

  • Does the EP Cube have to be connected to the internet?

    Yes, the internet connection of the EP Cube is essential to allow monitoring with APP, to receive software automatic update and to maximize the accumulation of solar energy and make its consumption more efficient.

  • How does the system run in different operation modes?

    In self-consumption mode, the surplus power is charged to battery storage when solar generation power is bigger than household consumption, which usually happens during midday. And the battery storage is discharged to household appliances when the solar generation power is not enough. In TOU mode, the system adopts time-based control, providing best cost efficiency if your energy costs vary through the day. Backup mode reserve a portion of battery energy for backup at all time, providing additional security for your continuous power consumption.
