The Duke Energy Battery program offers a streamlined solution for more effectively managing energy on the electric grid while offering you monthly bill credits. Customers can enroll in either the Power Manager® or EnergyWise® Home programs, enabling smarter battery performance and optimal solar charging. Participation not only enhances grid reliability but also provides financial benefits — such as upfront incentives or monthly bill credits — depending on your eligibility and location. Whether you’re a new or existing battery owner, this program makes it easy to contribute to a sustainable energy future while enjoying improved energy control.

For Duke Energy Carolinas Territories:
Customers enroll in the Power Manager program.
For Duke Energy Progress Territories (North and South Carolina):
Customers join the EnergyWise Home program.
Existing Battery Owners:
If you already have an eligible battery, you can enroll in Battery Control and enjoy ongoing bill credits.
When you participate, your battery is set to optimize charging from solar, and during scheduled Battery Control events, it shifts to support the grid without discharging below a 20% state of charge.
By enrolling in the Duke Energy Battery Program through EP Cube, customers can earn ongoing monthly incentives for their participation. Eligible participants may receive a bill credit based on their battery system’s size and performance. The incentive is calculated as $6.50 per kW of battery discharge capacity, multiplied by the battery’s capability factor.
Power Manager/EnergyWise Home Incentives:
Battery size | Nameplate capacity continuous discharge | Monthly bill credit | Annual potential bill credit |
---|---|---|---|
9.9 kWh | 5 kW | $23 | $276 |
13.3 kWh | 6.5 kW | $29 | $359 |
16.6 kWh | 7.6 kW | $35 | $420 |
19.9 kWh | 7.6 kW | $35 | $420 |
